A few days after announcing Redmi a sub-brand, Xiaomi introduces the world to its brand new Redmi Note 7. The launch was not a surprise to many as Xiaomi President Lin Bin had already revealed late last year that the company was working on a phone featuring a 48-megapixel camera.
Apart from an impressive 48-megapixel image sensor and an f/1.8 lens, the new Redmi Note 7 also has a monstrous 4000mAh battery. Some other easily notable features of the phone include a waterdrop-notch 6.3″ FHD+ 19.5:9 display and 2.5D glass on the front and back.
Under its skin, Redmi Note 7 has a Snapdragon 660 processor and 3-6GB RAM. In addition, it comes with two storage space options- 32GB and 64GB. There is also a MicroSD card slot in the case users want to extend the storage space. For quick charging, Redmi has put a USB-C port that supports Qualcomm QuickCharge 4.0. Some other noticeable features of the phone are a fingerprint sensor on the back and a headphone port measuring 3.5mm.
Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 7 is sleek and adorable, but it carries a very simple design. The phone’s look seems similar to a low-cost Mi Play released a few days back. Rear-facing dual cameras, a fingerprint sensor on the back, and colorful gradients are some of the basic features that are mounted exactly where they were expected to be.
When it comes to the display portion, the new Note has a 6.3-inch 1080p screen.
A 48MP f/1.8 main camera is the most impressive feature of Redmi Note 7. The high-quality camera will allow users to capture pictures with its 48 million tiny 0.8-micron pixels. According to the company, the phone’s camera is capable of working brilliantly even in the low light. Users will be able to take bright and clear photos even when the light around them is not bright, it said.
Alongside the high-definition sensor, there comes a 5MP camera for depth perception.
For a selfie, the phone has a 13-megapixel camera on the front side. As per the company’s claim, the new Redmi 7 Note supports scene detection, portraits, and beautification.
Price And Where To Buy
Note 7 will be first launched in China for sale. In fact, pre-order for the smartphone has already started in the country. It is going to be among the first devices in China that come with a warranty. The company is offering a warranty of 18 months, which reflects Xiaomi’s confidence in the phone.
For the Note 7 with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage, the price will be RMB 999 (around $150). The sale is expected to start in China on January 15.
After China, Redmi 7 Note will soon make its way to neighbor country India, which is a massive market for Xiaomi. Many of the company’s smartphones are having a very good time in the country whose mobile users are expected to reach 468 million by 2021.
Redmi Note 7 is not the first smartphone with a 48-megapixel camera. Huawei and Honor have already introduced their phones with a big camera. However, these phones are more expensive than the new Note 7. It means Redmi is all set to give its competitors a tough fight in the market.
